NMQA Celebrates 50 Years!
Congratulations to NMQA for reaching the momentous occasion of 50 years!
Since 1974, our Quilt Guild has been a place for creativity and expression, where generations of quilters have come to share their passion, learn new techniques, and inspire each other.
On Saturday, October 26, 2024 we honored and celebrated the countless hands that have contributed to our rich tapestry of history at a 50th Anniversary Luncheon. Pictured at left are five members of NMQA who have been affiliated with NMQA for over 30 years: Miriam Velazquez-Fagley (40+ years), Ruth Krug, Neida Courtney, Julie Hogan, and Pat Drennan (all 30+ years).
In a room lined with quilts from former NMQA presidents and NMQA's history, 118 members and guests enjoyed a luncheon buffet and key note speaker Gail Garber, pictured below with her quilt, Galactic Tango.
Gail is not only a nationally known quilter and author, but she was a member of NMQA and its President in 1987.
The celebration weekend also included two workshops led by Gail and attended by NMQA members.
