2025 Balloon Raffle Quilt! "Esperanza," designed by June Romero and quilted by Amanda Ruden, is NMQA's 2025 Balloon Raffle Quilt. Quilt Designer's Statement: The NMQA 2025 Balloon Fiesta Quilt, "Esperanza," reflects my mantra for living: HOPE. I love traditional quilt blocks -- they represent such a sense of optimism. Just little scraps of fabric, they combine to make something beautiful. I used traditional blocks to make a background representing a New Mexico landscape and floated 32 balloons on top. The quilt is 82" wide by 90" long. Next Year's Quilt Because of the complexity of creating, constructing, and marketing NMQA's annual Balloon Quilt, future quilts are already in various stages of design and construction. Interested designers for future years can see our timeline and design guidelines here. Balloon Pilots: Interested in seeing your balloon on the Quilt? Have you flown your balloon at an Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta? Would you like your balloon to appear on an upcoming Balloon Fiesta Quilt? We need your permission first! Find details here. Balloon Quilts Since 1982 Since 1982, NMQA's major fundraiser has been the raffle of a quilt featuring balloons. Using the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta as inspiration, guild members create an original design and then work collaboratively to construct the quilt.
