Create an artistic, mosaic-style quilt using a precut African quilt kit. These are 100% cotton fabrics from Ghana. The complete kit includes 200 2 inch squares @ $39.95. Participants can also purchase a 50 pack of 2” squares for only $7.50. You can add non-African fabrics from your stash as filters and transition fabrics to create a truly unique result. Lisa suggests batiks, iridescents, marbled and hand dyed cotton, mudcloth, faux suede, basic quilt fabrics, velvets and raw silks. A variety of textures will add drama.
Lisa will also be showing some optional projects beyond the full-size wall hanging using all 200 squares. Students might want to come prepared with any of the optional items in case they want to switch up.
