Doll Quilt Project |
NMQA is again participating in the Albuquerque Woodworkers toy project this year by donating doll quilts to them. Each year the Woodworkers make over 400 wooden toys to give to children at the holiday season.
Doll quilts should be 81/2 x 11 inches total size. Quilts should be minimally quilted so the quilts can be folded around dolls, bears, etc. Do not use batting. Instead use washed flannel or muslin as the center of your quilt sandwich.
Use up your scraps, orphan blocks, or do something totally original!! Anything goes as long as you stay within the size parameters.
Bring your finished quilts to a meeting and turn them into Elizabeth Fleck, project person. I will also have kits available starting at the February meeting to help you get started.
