Designed by Nature Workshop

presented by Michelle Jackson,

nationally known art quilter

Michelle Jackson, nationally known art quilter, will show a fun and easy way to design your own one-of-a-kind blocks based on nature. Some ideas of potential blocks can come from wood grain, swirling cream in your coffee, animal skin or fur, leaves, the bark of a tree, sea shells, fruits or vegetables -- pictured above are Michelle's interpretations of "kiwi," "zebra," and "giraffe." The possibilities are endless!

We will look at the five patterns in nature and how artists use them in compositions in the art quilting world.  Using photos from nature, we will create a "sketch" for each of the five design patterns.  Then you'll interpret at least one of those desgins into a fused fabric collage. Your completed fabric collage and sketches can then be used as inspiration for future quilts.
