featuring Debbie Wendt

"Bindings - A World of Options"

Discover all things binding by attending September's monthly NMQA meeting.

From traditional to fused, hand sewn to machine, and quilts to clothing, nationally-known quilter Debbie Wendt will inspire you with an array of binding styles to finish your edges.

She will discuss choosing the best fabric, as well as straight of grain vs. bias binding.  She'll show over 15 different binding examples and many items showing those examples on quilts and clothing.

Debbie has combined passions for sewing, quilting, and teaching into Wendt Quilting, a business truly on the go. Her degree in home economics education and eight years of teaching home ec continues to influence her classes.  Her students love her ability to break down and explain the many aspects of quilting.  She began quilting over 35 years ago and started teaching quilting internationally in 1993 while living in Cairo, Egypt. She develops tools including "Brilliant Bindings", “Hex-a-ma-jig” and “Hex-a-ma-jig Jr.”, “Hex-a-Mini” and designs many unique quilt patterns and books.  Bringing tradition to modern designs, she encourages fun and confidence in her students.

We'll also have Show & Tell at the meeting!  If you're attending in person, bring your item with you and if you're attending through zoom, send your photos to Kris Lange, klange@email.com at least 48 hours before the meeting.

Balloon Fiesta Training for anyone signed up to work the tent will follow immediately after the meeting
